BARRETT SADDLE & CHAP SHOP
In 1991, at the age of 21, Dusty started his own business as a leather
craftsman. He quickly discovered he had a unique talent making Rodeo
Chaps and Saddle Bronc riding saddles. For 8 years this trade was his
main source of income. During this time he built hundreds of chaps including
custom orders for PBR legend Chris Shivers and also for Ronny Kitchens, just to
name a few.
Then in 1998, Dusty decided that if he was going to make such quality products
he should put them to the test. So, he set his sights on being crowned the 1998 Saddle
bronc champion in the PRCA, First Frontier Circuit. When the curtain fell at the
end of the third go round of the finals in Binghamton, NY, he was in deed the year end winner.
Also that year he received the honor of Resistol Rookie for the PRCA.
After achieving this goal, he turned his full attention to carrying on the family torch,
following in his grandfathers footsteps and began his career as a Rodeo Clown
and Funny man. With the many hours and dedication it takes to endever this
career, time in the leather shop was put on hold.
Today Dusty is making time, between horse training and traveling to Rodeos,
to return to his leather shop. This decision came after many request for him to
start making his fine leather products once again.
Dusty is now accepting orders for custom Rodeo chaps and also custom working/
training shot gun chaps. Please call with any questions and/or to place your order.
